‘It’s UATL’ podcast: For Ms. Pat, ‘American dream’ isn’t about money or fame
What does success in this country look like? Big house? White picket fence? Being your own boss?
Comedian and actor Ms. Pat will tell you it’s deeper than material things.
“For me, the American dream is what I’ve been fighting for my whole life — a family to love me,” she told the hosts of “It’s UATL.”
The Atlanta native visited AJC Studios to discuss her second memoir, “Ms. American Dream.”
The follow-up to 2017’s “Rabbit” chronicles Ms. Pat’s road from living off food stamps to becoming an Emmy-nominated television star.
Ms. Pat will make a stop in Atlanta on Oct. 6 for her national book tour. The event at Auburn Avenue Research Library features a conversation between Ms. Pat and local broadcast legend Monica Kaufman Pearson.
Free general admission tickets are sold out. Tickets for $34.54 plus fees are still available and come with a copy of “Ms. American Dream.”
